Project Management Organizational Assessment
The Project Environment Profiler tool assists management to
define, prioritize and implement the steps needed for a best
practices approach to enterprise-wide project management. The
tool uses a five level maturity model which examines 10 fields
of expertise. Each field of expertise was defined based on best
practices identified through benchmarking in top organizations.
For each field of expertise, we have created a maturity table
with specific activities and indicators that will help managers
in making decisions concerning the level of development needed
for each field.
The benefits of the ERP are: 1 Better understanding and
communication within an organization for the benefits of project
management excellence and corporate objectives; 2)Clear
identication of the 'as is' situation and definition of the
sector of activities that need development; 3) Helps managers to
identify goals to attain, actions to undertake and high-level
time and cost efforts required to reach them.
Project Management Resource Assessments
The Project Resource Profiler measures the competency level of
project team members in areas such as communications and human
resource management. One of the common reasons for the failure
of a project relates to the skills or competencies of the
project resources.
The PRP measures the following competencies: leadership,
thinking skills, organizational awareness, interpersonal
relations, action management and communication (written and
verbal).
The benefits of the PRP are:
Project Staff Selection: The right resource for the right job is
a key component to meeting the project objectives. Having an
analysis of each of your project manager's competencies will
ensure that an organization is making the right resource choices.
Training Identification: Organizations today make large
investments for training project staff. When you know the
strengths and areas of improvement of each of your project
managers, selecting the right training for their career path
becomes clearer and simpler.
What Does the PRP Provide? Once the test has been submitted and
scored, the client is provided with the following for each staff
member: 1) A rated scoring of each competency area; 2) A
detailed written explanation of the scoring; 3) Written
recommendations for what their best task placements and
assignments would currently be, and what the individual may
require to further their career development.
