• Consulting

  BBGI will provide a consultancy service tailored to your exact requirements so that you have access to expert technical support without the burden of hiring full time staff. We can perform Needs Analysis and then design, implement and manage your GIS project. This can include advising you on selecting the correct hardware and software for the job, producing training and user manuals, creating and converting data, performing end-user training.

  System Development

  With the recent advent of Internet (and Intranet) mapping, we have expanded our in-house capabilities to include software development. Using MapBasic, MapXsite and MapXtreme, we have the capability to develop anything from a simple MapInfo Professional enhancement right through to a multi-server, multi-user Internet mapping system. We can also develop spreadsheets, macros and programs to perform data creation and conversion tasks.

  With MapXtreme, selected elements of MapInfo Professional can be embedded into an application so that the end user only sees what you want him or her to see. Basic maps can be produced using MapInfo Professional, then those maps can be directly used by MapXtreme. This is a perfect solution where maps maintained by one or two departments need to be viewed, analysed and printed in many different physical locations.

  In conjunction with our experienced consultants BBGI can design, develop, implement and support your mapping application, providing you with a system that will pay for itself many times over.

  Data Creation

  BBGI can convert data between a vast number of different formats. If you need to import existing data into your Business Mapping System then we can help. We can take data from a legacy system (a system that you have been using for some time), from a spreadsheet, from a database, from printed images - and bring it into your mapping system.

  We have full colour scanning and OCR (Optical Character Recognition) capabilities which enable you to use aerial photos and printed tables of existing data in your applications.

  BBGI can digitize existing paper maps and transform them into MapInfo format, this is especially useful if you have produced your own specialised paper maps and need to continue using them in the new system.

  Where the data does not exist in a format that can be easily converted, we provide Data Entry services which free your staff from the burden of having to populate the system with legacy data and allows them to concentrate on more important tasks.

  Baseline Business Geographics now offers two levels of MapInfo Professional training - Level I Fundamentals and Level II Advanced - so you can choose the course that's right for you! If your training needs aren't covered by our standard courses, we can provide customized training. There is now a course in Vertical Mapper, the MapInfo add-on for analyzing and displaying continually varying data.

  MapInfo Professional Level I - Fundamentals

  Unleash the power of MapInfo! This course has been designed around a series of short, hands on, problem solving exercises. You'll use MapInfo to create, display and analyse a variety of maps and by the end of the course you will know your way around the software. No prior knowledge of Business Mapping is required.

  MapInfo Professional Level II - Advanced

  Dig deeper into the functionality of MapInfo Professional! This course is designed to enable you to utilize more of the complex features available to you in MapInfo Professional. New courseware has been created to include additional modules to take back to your workplace. If you've already taken our MapInfo Professional Level I Fundamentals course or feel comfortable with the topics it covers, take the Advanced level class and get more from your MapInfo Professional software NOW!

  Vertical Mapper Training

  In this course you will learn to use this 'add-on' to display and analyse continually varying data. Vertical Mapper is a raster-based system used in conjunction with MapInfo that allows for display and analysis of data that varies continuously over space. This course is designed to give new users the tools they need to effectively utilize the software's powerful functionality.

  Customized Training

  We will design and execute a training course for your end-users, whether it is a variation to one of our normal training courses or training in a specific application. If we have developed your application, or if you have done the development work yourself, give us a call and discuss your training plan. We can run courses on-site or at your premises.
