BABCO ELECTRIC & ENGINEERING LTD. was formed in 1971 primarily as a Manufacturer of Steel, Aluminum and Stainless Steel Enclosures for the Electrical Industry.
In 1972 we began manufacture assembling industrial Instrumentation and Control Panels, for Electric, Electronic and Pneumatic Process Control Systems. This department has now been expanded into High Tech products including Integrated Variable Speed Drive Systems, Programmable Controllers and Robotics.
In, 1973, with the rapid growth of the Electrical Industry in North America and the demand for Power Distribution, we began manufacturing Low & Medium Voltage Motor Control Centres and Low & High Voltage Switchgear. BABCO became a diversified operation offering a broad scope of products for supply to the Open Market including a Service Division.
As noted in our catalogue, BABCO operates under Four Divisions or Cost Centres, namely:
A) Sheet Metal Division B) Instrumentation and Control Division C) Low and High Voltage Switchgear Division D) Field Service Division
In 1977, we expanded our marketing capabilities with the purchase of Toshi Electrical Industries Ltd., a small Distribution Company serving Western Canada. Toshi sells and distributes a variety of Electrical Products and acts as the marketing arm for Babco, providing our customers with a wide range of products on a consolidated basis.
Since 1971, we have enjoyed a steady growth in our companies and even during the downturn of the economy, we were able to maintain our profit margin at a controllable level.
