Land Application Of Feedstocks, Or Composted Products.
B & B Environmental Services Ltd. uses organic by-products from industry, municipalities, agriculture and aquaculture for soil enhancement in the Maritime Provinces of Canada, and the State of Maine, USA. One division services the agricultural community through land application of various wastes, including on-farm manure, bio-solids, fish hatchery products (manures and oils), lime mud, calcium hydroxide, paper fibre from pulp and paper mills, bark, pin chips, boiler ash, etc. Customized equipment allows for land application of materials when other equipment is limited by weather conditions.
The commercial composting division operates on a 70 ha. site in southern New Brunswick, Canada. Pulp and paper by-products are composted into a soil conditioner. Their product line is rapidly expanding, into specialty markets with mostly soil conditioners.
Presently, B & B have a four year agreement in research with Agriculture and Agri-food Canada, Research and Productivity Council, and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development for effects of compost on commercial food production for international trade. B & B also are doing ongoing research with a Pacific Rim buyer in developing a product line for commercial production of a specialty crop for international trade.
