BI-AX International Inc. is a Canadian owned manufacturer of biaxially oriented polypropylene films (BOPP) established in 1986 for the packaging, graphics, lamination and pressure- sensitive industries. Products range from mono-layer tape and laminating clear films to multi-layer co-extruded heat sealable specialty films. Coloured films include white opaque and tan- coloured films.
BI-AX International Inc. is located in the Bruce Energy Centre near Tiverton, Ontario. Early in 1997, BI-Ax International Inc. expanded to increase production capability and added a five metre tenter line and upgraded their existing three metre tenter line.
In March 1999, BI-AX International Inc. purchased an eight metre Marshall & Williams tenter line. This line has been installed in their Wingham, Ontario plant and production commenced in early 2000.
BI-AX International Inc. will be introducing a new and innovative biaxially oriented HDPE synthetic paper film - Evlon which will be available in mid 2001 for label and other paper alternative applications. Evlon is highly durable, puncture and tear resistant material that can be heat, adhesive and ultrasonically sealed. This material is an easy to print alternative to convential paper as well as other synthetic papers based on its ability to absorb many types of inks with rapid drying properties.
BI-AX International Inc. also offers toll manufacturing and a complete pilot tenter line service including lab services for film research and product development.
