AXYS Analytical Services Ltd. is a trace organics laboratory specializing in GC/MS methods including dioxins/furans, PCB congeners, organochlorine pesticides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in a wide variety of matrices including aqueous and drinking water, air, solids, soils, sediments, biosolids, sludges, biological tissues, vegetation, breast milk, human blood, plasma and serum. Other analyses include sterols, nonylphenols, polybrominated dioxin/furans, polybrominated diphenylethers, polychlorinated naphthalenes, phthalate esters, and polybrominated biphenyls.
AXYS has over twenty-five years of analytical experience, capabilities and resources to draw on. This combination of attributes has allowed AXYS to concentrate in baseline monitoring, ecological and human health risk assessment work where low detection limits and a high degree of specificity in results are required. AXYS has earned a reputation for providing defensible analytical data of the highest quality. This reputation is based on two integral components: The development and use of methods that allow quantification to industry-leading low-level detection limits, and the establishment and maintenance of a rigorous in-house QA/QC system.
AXYS maintains an extensive list of international clients including those from the USA, Japan, Vietnam, Russia, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, the Czech Republic, Barbados and the United Kingdom. In addition, our scientists have been involved in trips overseas to assist in developing laboratories, sampling and monitoring projects for the following countries: Russia, Czech Republic, Europe, Fiji, Vietnam and in the remote Canadian Arctic. Many of our joint collaborations have resulted in scientific papers, presentations and international recognition.
Data you can rely on - WHO does!! In 1996, the World Health Organization (WHO) coordinated a comprehensive study on the analytical precision of laboratories performing the analysis of dioxins, furans and PCBs. The aim of this study was to ensure reliability and comparability of analytical data from exposure studies, and also to encourage the development and improvement of analytical methodologies and analytical capacity. Twenty-four laboratories from fourteen countries participated in the study. Axys Analytical Services was the only laboratory to meet criteria for the analyses of PCDDs, PCDFs and dioxin-like PCBs in both human plasma and human milk. AXYS is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) in cooperation with the Canadian Association for Environmental Laboratories (CAEAL) to ISO Guide 17025, and by the U. S. National Environmental Lab Accreditation Program (NELAP).
