OVERVIEW OF AQUASOLs WASTEWATER TREATMENT TECHNOLOGY Aquasol EnviroTech (Canada) Ltd. based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, is an advanced High-Tech environmental company with subsidiaries in Alberta, USA and China. Aquasols principals have over 18 years of experience in the environmental industry. The companys proprietary technologies render effluents suitable for re-use or conventional discharge, with capabilities that meet or surpass the most stringent environmental standards set by regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Ministry of Environment. Aquasol was founded in 1996 by Dr. Huazhong Mao, President and key scientific developer of the companys proprietary technologies. Dr. Mao holds his doctoral degree in Environmental Biotechnology Engineering from the University of Alberta, Canada. In 1997, he was the recipient of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers (CSCSE) Keeder Gold Medal for his contribution to new environmental biotechnology and research. Key Technologies Aquasol specializes in the engineering design and manufacture of advanced biological wastewater treatment systems. These products are used primarily in the industrial, municipal, commercial, and agricultural sectors.
Aquasols proprietary technologies treat biodegradable liquid and solid wastes, rendering the effluents suitable for either re- use or conventional disposal. This process is carried out in a non-chemical based environment, producing no toxic discharge. These processes meet and surpass the most stringent environmental standards set by government regulators such as the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Environment Canada.
Aquasols waste treatment process is composed of three critical components. These components are an evolutionary leap forward, from the traditional forms of wastewater treatment.
These patented technologies include:
(1) The Superator This advanced design aerator dissolves gases into liquids at low pressure creating microbubbles for the metabolic control of bacteria. The Superator is 38% more efficient than the most current gas-liquid aerators available on the market. It may also be used independently for AOP processes, ozone disinfection or the control of pH levels in water. This product has been used with great success in the oil and gas sector.
(2) Microentrap Immobilization Technology (MIT) MIT provides an ideal environment for bacteria to work efficiently. This ideal microenvironment is created using leading edge Biomedia and special bacterial immobilization techniques. The Biomedia uses polymers with micro-pores linked together to allow the effective transport of food (or substrates) to the surface of bacterial cells and the removal of wastes (or metabolites) from the cells.
(3) Integrated Immobilization Bioreactor Systems (IIBS) The Integrated Immobilization Bioreactor System (IIBS) was originally developed and proven effective for the removal of various nutrients from domestic sewage and various industrial wastewaters. It has been found that this technology can be used in many other applications, including: the treatment of animal wastes, dairy wastes, and many other industrial wastewaters requiring the removal of high concentrations of organics and biodegradable solids. These technologies are also able to recover energy as a byproduct of the waste treatment process. Aquasols Advantages Aquasols technology simulates and accelerates the natural process of breaking down waste. The companys patented biotechnology offers a complete wastewater management solution without chemicals, filters, radiation, or the need for any other secondary treatment.
Advantages of Aquasols Wastewater Treatment Process:
requires a low capital investment
than traditional physical, chemical,
low maintenance and operating costs
the substantial reduction of sludge levels
comparable systems
short and long term
operates within a fully self-contained unit
treatment is eliminated
space requirement
Aquasol is focused one core business: engineering, the production, distribution, and sale of biological wastewater treatment systems as well as services. The company offers the only true environmentally friendly alternative to conventional wastewater treatment.
Product Lines
Aquasols four product lines encompass a full range of wastewater treatment options. The key technology components are used in each of these product lines to create innovative and environmentally sensitive wastewater treatment methods. This breadth of product and the ability to customize products gives the company a distinct competitive advantage.
Effluent from a fish processing plant that goes to an AQUASOL system, is treated and then is fed into a greenhouse for hydroponically feeding the plants. The effluent then leaves the greenhouse and goes through an RO system and then fed back into the plant as process fresh water. A closed loop system.

I found Aquasol Technologies Inc. to be very professional in all aspects of the project, Workmanship on the installation and retrofit of equipment was done in a timely fashion and safely. Followup to the project was very good. Most importantly, the final results of the project were excellent. The effluent quality from the upgraded sanitary treatment system is on spec and as the unit is fine tuned, the results are still improving.
I took forward to working with Aquasol Technologies Inc, on any future projects.
My name may be used as a reference for any other projects that Aquasol Technologies Inc. may pursue.
