The Brandon Research Centre conducts research on production systems for beef cattle and swine. New cultivators of barley and corn are also developed through conventional breeding programs. The center has a land resource management program, which is now undergoing expansion. The major focus of the Brandon Research Centre in the future will be as a national centre of excellence for the development of sustainable development systems for cultivated soils and crops in the Black soil zone of western Canada. Library information services related to agriculture. Collaborative research in areas of barley breeding, beef production, sustainable land practices and soil mapping.
