The Brandon Research Centre conducts research on production systems for beef cattle and swine. New cultivators of barley and corn are also developed through conventional breeding programs. The center has a land resource management program, which is now undergoing expansion. The major focus of the Brandon Research Centre in the future will be as a national centre of excellence for the development of sustainable development systems for cultivated soils and crops in the Black soil zone of western Canada.
