Sonoptic Technologies Inc., established in 1995, is a subsi- diary of Magic Lantern Communications, Canada's largest distri- butor of video for education and training use, in business since 1974. Sonoptic markets its services into Ontario and Quebec and across the Atlantic provinces. Serving telephone company expansion into broadband service delivery in particular, it is now extending its marketing presence into the Eastern seaboard of the US. Set up for efficient encoding of large video volume, it anticipates the emergence of new markets for digitizing, re-purposing and archiving video production in all formats.
