Tom Sewid has acted as the native guardian for his people's traditional territory since 1989. He has encouraged the growth of a booming tourism industry within Broughton Archipelago which allows fishing, forestry, tourists and first nations to work together. With the addition of his marine toruing vessel in 2003, he is moving his company into more broader areas of environmental protetion and resource management. Tom views himself as a guardian for all first nations interests in the areas that he visits with area industries turning to him for advice and support in their efforts to get along witht he areas first peoples. Tom is currently the north Island director for Aboriginal Tourism British Columbia.
