ATLIS Geomatics Inc.
ATLIS Geomatics Inc. is a Manitoba-based company established
in March of 1995, to provide a complete land information
service, utilizing state-of-the-art digital analytical
photogrammetric mapping technology. In addition, ATLIS
provides project management for aerial photographic and
control survey services. The firm teams up with local GIS and
systems management companies to complete any land information
or facility management requirements the client may require.
ATLIS Geomatics currently employs four technical/production
and two administrative personnel. These personnel have
combined technical experience totaling 54 years in the
photogrammetric and aerial survey fields, in Canada, the
United States and the Middle East. The principle of ATLIS has
being involved in the mapping and aerial survey industry, in
central Canada, technically and administratively since 1978.
The cornerstone for ATLIS is data acquisition, utilizing
precision photogrammetry, for the production of:
digital infrastructure and topographic base maps
DEM (digital elevation model) files
digital orthophoto base mapping
aerial triangulation
area/volume computations
cross sections and profiles.
In addition to digital photogrammetric services, ATLIS
provides:
digital conversion of existing maps and plans
conventional aerial reprographics and mosaics.
Whatever the project requirements are, whether it is
engineering, planning, design or GIS/facility management,
within government, mining, forestry or consulting, ATLIS can
provide the necessary land base data, accurately, efficiently
and cost-effectively.

Services
Aerial Photography
Cartography
Conversion of existing hardcopy maps to digital. Map enhancement
and editing of digital map files.
Orthophoto Production
An orthophoto or ortho-rectified aerial image is an aerial
survey photograph that has been geo-referenced and corrected for
scale distortion, using ground survey and a three dimensional
terrain file (usually measured from the aerial photography using
a technology called photogrammetry). Scale differences and image
distortion are typically caused by tip & tilt of the
aircraft/camera system during photo acquisition and by ground
relief. The resulting corrected image combines the measuring
accuracy of a map with the realism of a photograph.
Photogrammetric Mapping
Three dimensional measurement from large format (9'x9') stereo
survey photography to create accurate topographic maps.
Reprographics
ATLIS Geomatics provides large format, flatbed-scanning services
using a VEXCEL US5000 photogrammetric scanner equipped with an
aerial film roller. This scanner is capable of scanning
transmissive material (aerial diapositives, film negatives,
slides) or opaque material (paper prints) for sizes up to 330mm
x 440mm (13 x 17), at optical resolutions of 5 micron
(5080dpi) or 29 micron (875dpi), with a geometric accuracy of 62
microns.
