ARDICOM Digital Communications Inc. markets a high-speed
digital communications network to serve all 58 communities of
the Northwest Territories. Our Frame Relay network provides new
community-based business opportunities, and reduces the cost and
improve the delivery of Government and business services in the
North.
ARDICOM's vision is to connect northern communities with an
advanced high-speed digital communications network to: ensure
value for our customers; retain economic, social and cultural
benefits in the North; and demonstrate innovation and leadership
in delivering the advantages of the Information Highway to the
North.
ARDICOM's shareholders are:
Arctic Co-operatives Ltd., Northern Aboriginal
Services Company, and Northwestel Inc.. ARDICOM is 100% owned by
northern companies, 66% of which are Aboriginal, reflecting the
communities the network will serve. Our Frame Relay network will
connect all 58 communities of the NWT to the rest of Canada and
the world by October, 1998. Plans are in development for
providing similar services to other regions of the North.
