AFM Consultants is a group specialising in Design and Facilities Management consulting services. The firm was established by a group of Atlantic Canada firms and has associates in South Carolina, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. The firm is a continuation of the practices of Project Consultants Limited and Project Architects Limited and is headquartered in Halifax NS.
AFM's mission is to provide a multidisciplinary, cost effective design and consulting service to it's client base. Staff includes Planners, Architects, Engineers, Building Science and Inspection Technologists, Interior Designers, Real Estate Consultants and Appraisers, Computer Applications Specialists, Technicians and other support personnel. AFM is unique in that the firm combines specialized technical and financial expertise within one organization.
Facilities Management is assuming greater importance to corporate and public sector organizations. It involves developing corporate facilities policy, long-range requirement forecasts, real estate strategies and managing an inventory of space, furniture and equipment, as well as building operation and maintenance and new capital projects (through design, construction and/or renovation).
AFM has extensive experience in both the design of new facilities and the evaluation and adaptive reuse of existing facilities. The firm has conducted varied assignments for public and private sector clients including Asset Management Strategies, Building Condition Reports and Highest and Best Use Studies.
AFM's combination of planning, engineering, architectural, inspection, computer systems, financial, valuation and market expertise results in design and implementation of operational strategies that allow facilities to be operated more economically and effectively.
AFM specialises in the field of Integrated Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) Systems and Computerized, Maintenance, Materials and Service Management (CMMS) systems. The firm is experienced in the preparation of needs analysis, followed by the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of systems to meet the specialised needs of both private and public sector clients.
