AERDE Environmental Research became a registered partnership in January, 1988. The firm provides consulting services to government, industry and academia in the application of environmental reconnaissance technology and the development and analysis of environmental policy and management strategies. These services are provided in the areas of remote sensing, SAR applications R&D, education and training, and wetland conservation. Special effort has been committed to the development of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) applications for natural resource analysis and environmental monitoring.
AERDE clients rely on the firm's impartiality, experience and expertise in modern imaging radar technology, sensor systems, and mission planning; analyzing airborne and spaceborne SAR data acquired in many different regions of the globe for application in natural resource management and environmental monitoring; identifying new information products for application in agriculture, forestry, landform analysis, mineral exploration, hydrology, and monitoring of off shore and coastal zone environments; and, providing training in the above fields.
AERDE has produced several CD-ROM based educational products and training materials for radar remote sensing applications. The company is actively looking for partners to organize and present radar remote sensing training and education programs.
AERDE, in cooperation with other firms and research associates, has carried out projects in various parts of Canada, the United States, Western Europe, Scandinavia, Mexico, China, Bangladesh and Indonesia.
For environmental problems such as wide-spread flooding of major rivers, AERDE has provided in-depth RADARSAT data acquisition, analysis and training expertise in North America and in Asia, notably in Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
For issues involving costal zone management, AERDE has provided in-depth RADARSAT data acquisition, analysis and training expertise in Canada, The United States, Central America, Thailand, and China.
